Meeting

The NSGIC Midyear Meeting provides critical and timely networking opportunities with state and federal officials, industry leaders and other geospatial organizations. You’ll encounter new information and tools to help you do your job more effectively.

Join us in Salt Lake City to:

  • Connect, collaborate, and share with colleagues and thought leaders in the geospatial community
  • Take part in engaging sessions, workshops and the State Caucus (state/local only)

Skiing
In February and March, skiing and snowboarding adventures await with world-class ski resorts less than a 30-minute freeway drive away. Ski rental equipment rental and various transportation options all within 1-2 blocks, making it easy and pain-free to get to the mountain for a fun day of downhill rides.

Our headquarters hotel, the Sheraton Salt Lake City, is centrally located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City’s business and entertainment district and just four blocks from Temple Square and great downtown shopping. Enjoy recently renovated guestrooms, an onsite Starbucks and 5th Street Grill restaurant, as well as their new fitness center. The hotel offers complimentary shuttle transportation to/from Salt Lake City International Airport as well as to the surrounding area.

Hotel Reservations
NSGIC has secured a group block room for our attendees at the Sheraton.

Room rates are:

  • $123 Single/Double Occupancy
  • $133 Triple Occupancy

These rates will be available for three days prior and three days after the Meeting dates - subject to availability at the time you make your reservation.

Upon completion of your registration, you will receive an email containing the online booking link, Reservations phone number and the NSGIC group rate code. 

Thank you for booking your hotel room through the NSGIC block. This allows NSGIC to keep registration fees as low as possible and negotiate lower room rates to accommodate meeting participants.

Conference Grant Program - CLOSED

For NSGIC state representatives faced with funding challenges, NSGIC offers limited conference grants to fully or partially cover reasonable travel expenses, hotel accommodations, and/or meeting registration fees. For more information, please refer to the conference grant policy and travel policy.

General Information

Confirmation
Upon receipt of the submitted registration form and payment of your full registration fee, you will receive confirmation of your registration via email. The confirmation email is your receipt for the meeting. Please present your registration confirmation number to the meeting event desk onsite to receive your name badge and meeting materials.

Cancellation / Refund Policy
Cancellation of your registration must be received in writing. Refunds are available as follows:

  • By January 31, 2018 - full refund of registration fees paid
  • February 1 through 15, 2018 - refund of registration fees paid, less a $50 administrative fee.
  • February 16, 2018 and later - no refund

Onsite/Walk-Up Registration
Please note that attendees who do not pre-register for the meeting will be required to register and pay the registration fee in full prior to admittance into the meeting.

Attire
Business casual attire is appropriate for all events.

Travel
Air - Salt Lake City International Airport provides air service into Salt Lake City, and is located seven miles from the hotel in downtown.

Airport Shuttle - The Sheraton offers a complimentary shuttle from the hotel to the airport which operates daily from 5 am to midnight, running every 30 minutes. Upon picking up your bags at the airport, please dial (801) 401-2000 to request a pickup and the operator will advise you of the exact pickup location.

Parking - If you are arriving by car, self-parking is available at the hotel and is complimentary.

Weather
Weather averages in late February are in the high 50’s daytime, and nighttime in the low 30’s.
