Transportation for the Nation Work Group

Mission

Support the development of a strategic plan for nation-wide, publicly available transportation data to support each state's Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) and the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI). The strategic plan will identify stakeholders, collect stakeholder needs, and identify possible solutions. Emphasis will be placed upon encouraging the USDOT to assume a leadership role that encourages federal agencies to work towards a common nationwide transportation data set, as well as a leadership role that incorporates the needs of local, regional and statewide GIS coordination programs.
